Little girls and boys all over the world were getting ready for bed with excitement and anxiety as they awaited the morning where they could see what Santa had brought them. Foxie was no different. She had her snowman pajamas on and had just finished icing the sugar cookies that were to be left out for Santa. Foxie was hoping she would be able to see Santa if she slept in the living room, but her mom told her she had to go to her room.
Once she was all tucked in and her dad had read her a bedtime story, Foxie drifted off to sleep to dream of all the fun toys she was going to get the next day. Early the next morning, she woke up and ran to her parents room to wake them up. They then sent her to wake up her brother and then the family convened in the living room. As soon as Foxie walked into the living room she noticed her gifts there on the floor.
“Mom! Dad! Guess what?! Santa got me everything I asked for!” Foxie squealed as she noticed her very first laptop set-up with a black document open.
“Now, Foxie, we must speak about the rules when it comes to this laptop,” Foxie’s dad said.”
Foxie’s mom piped up and said, “this laptop is for you to write your stories on. Now that you are learning to write and type at school, we want you to be able to write all your stories that you think of to tell us.”
“Thank you guys! Thank you for mailing my letter to Santa for me! I’m so happy!” Foxie was only half listening due to her excitement.
Foxie and her family continued to open their gifts to one another. Foxie got some doll toys, some building blocks, and some pens/notebooks to write in while on the go. She also got a giant fuzzy pillow and she was very excited to lay down with it in her bed.
Once the presents had all been unwrapped, Foxie was ready to use her new laptop. Her dad and mom went over the rules with her and she nodded along quickly. Then, she stared at the blank document for a few minutes. After that, Foxie sighed loudly.
“I think I have writer’s block,” Foxie announced, closing the laptop and picking up her new dolls to play with them. Her family laughed and they had a Merry Christmas together in the living room.
