Foxie Goes Sledding

When Foxie found out that her dad and brother were planning a camping trip together, Foxie began to feel a bit jealous. Foxie had never been out in the forest before, she had only camped out in her backyard. Admittedly, Foxie was very nervous about the idea of camping, but that didn’t stop her from being jealous about her brother and dad’s trip. 

Foxie told her mom how she was feeling and her mom suggested that her and Foxie go on their own fun adventure together. Her mom asked her where she would like to go and Foxie told her she would like to go to the mountains. Foxie had never been to the snowy mountain tops but had always dreamed of sledding down them. 

When the day arrived for Foxie and her mom to travel towards the mountains, Foxie had her bags packed with jackets and boots and on her face was the biggest smile. She was so happy to be going on this adventure with her mom. They had decided to go the same weekend as her brother and dad’s camping trip, and the baby was going to be left with her grandparents for the weekend. Foxie and her mom waved goodbye to the family and her mom began to drive. 

“Are you sure you’ve got everything you need?” Foxie’s mom asked.

“I’m sure!” Foxie said excitedly. 

Foxie and her mom drove six long hours listening to all of their favorite songs on the car’s speakers. When they finally arrived at the hotel, Foxie hopped out of the car and groaned as she stretched her legs. They had only stopped along the way a few times, so being out of the car was a huge relief for Foxie.

They got settled into the hotel and then went out to find a local dinner spot. After dinner, they went to bed so that they would be ready for the sledding the next day. In the morning, when Foxie was trying to lace up her boots, she got frustrated because it wasn’t easy to lace up big snow boots that she had never worn before. Luckily, Foxie’s mom helped her lace up the boots and then they were ready to go towards the mountain top. When they got there, they rode a big, slow thing that was kind of like a rollercoaster up the mountain. Then, they put their sleds down and began to slide down the mountain. As she slid, Foxie felt many emotions. She felt joy and excitement, but she also felt fear because she had never done this before. Overall, the joy and excitement won over her mind and she was able to enjoy the experience. As soon as she reached the bottom she was begging her mom to ride up again. Foxie and her mom slid down the mountain all day and it was the most fun Foxie had ever had. 

Foxie had been nervous to try something new, but she was so glad that she did. Sliding down the mountain was a blast and Foxie couldn’t wait for the next day to do it all over again.
